Deep Powder
The experience is etherial. A ‘high’ that cannot be duplicated. It is earned. Sometimes it takes an aspiring skier years of practice to acquire this level of skill. Regardless, the reward of suffering numerous “yard sale” wipe-outs while learning what works and what doesn’t is beyond measure.
For many years, I enjoyed the additional pleasure of introducing thousands of skiers to this special world of accomplishment. Not much can replace the joy of watching someone who has paid the dues of practice, practice, practice finally crossing the plateau to an enhanced confidence as they trade face-plants (falls) with face-shots (fluffy globs of powder snow hitting ones face- like the picture on the left).
